Lainey 2-3 months old!

Well- I am a bit behind on this post....as Lainey is now almost 4 months old!!!

But- Here are the stats on her:

At 2 months old: Lainey was 22 inches long, and 9lbs  6 oz. at her 2 month checkup. She got shots, and was sore for about two days. :( She also started teething at 2 months- but no teeth have popped through yet.

3 months old: Lainey weighed in at approximately 11 lbs, and wears size 1 diapers. She still gets up around 3AM, and maybe one other time in the night (UGH...it's about killing me!!). She eats about 3-4 oz every 3 hours. She is very social baby. She is known to whine/ cry. When you go to see what the issue is, she will coo and smile....as she just wanted direct attention. Little Stinker! She is a very verbal baby, and seems to coo and talk to us alot...more than I remember with Keira. With Keira I remember her crazy facial expressions, and Lainey's claim to fame is how much she talks, coos, squawks, and hollers. As she continues to grow, her big blue eyes just seem to get bigger! She will look you right in the eye as if to say, "Can't you see how cute I am?!" She is absolutely adorable and definitely has us wrapped around her finger.
She just started this week (1 week shy of 4 months) to hold her own bottle. I don't remember Keira doing that until she was about 9 months. I guess Lainey realizes she is the 2nd child, and that learning to feed yourself is a necessary skill! ;)

Well- I will update on her 4 month checkup once I take her in next week...at least hopefully it is a bit sooner!

Whats been going on!

Hey friends!!

To answer the title of my post, there is a lot going on with us, and I have a feeling the roller coaster ride is getting ready to gain momentum! Ready or not here we go!

Me: I have been back to work a month now after being being home for 10 weeks! I enjoyed my leave much more this time, and considered just stating home FT. However I really do enjoy the business world and after thinking and praying about it for days, I really feel that Gods plan for me is to be in the work place part time. I know that is not his plan for everyone, but I feel that by being I the workplace part time I can be a witness to coworkers, and use the skills God has given me to help in the areas he has placed me. I also feel that part time is best for me, as it still allows me to place my family and home first. I still have time to make dinner, keep up on housework, and spend quality time with the girls and Austin. By only being in the office part time, I feel I can be balanced with my time. For example when I am on the office full time I feel guilty if I go on a date with Austin bc I have been away from the girls all day. By being home a bit more I don't feel guilty doing an activity without them. I am also looking forward to being able to be a bit more involved with ministry now. We recently stated a fellowship play dates for mommies at our church and I an glad I can take some time to invest in others at our church!

Babysitter- The girls started with a new babysitter when I went back to work.(on mondays- my mom still watches them Wed and Fridays...and they love going to Grandma Janes!)It is a great gal from my MOPS group who has 4 kids of her own...bless her heart (she is a real life energizer bunny!!!). Keira loves playing there, and is always so worn out from trying to keep up with her 3 boys. She sleeps so well on Monday nights!

Austin- he has 3 weeks left of school and we are counting the days!!!! He has also been great at helping keep the house in order, and is itching to get into a new place to do some more house projects- with all the new free time he will have not being in school!!!

Lainey: She is now 3 months old! Time flies. I am posting another blog just about her. She has been a champ with me going back to work, but is still such a momma's girl...which I don't mind at all! A couple weeks ago my mom and I went shopping and got Keira and Lainey new coordinating outfits for Easter. I always got to do that as a kid- so it was so fun to do for my girls now! We just had pictures taken in them last week at JCP- for Easter, Lainey's 3 months, and Keira's 3 year pics.

Keira: She is full of hilarious sayings!!! I can't even keep track of them all, but here is a few:

rice pudding: She has a book where the puppies get into the rice pudding. So- now she will go to the fridge, pull out a snack pack of chocolate pudding and ask if she can have "rice pudding"...LOL

just water: We went through McDonalds the other day, and we didn't ask her what she wanted. Without missing a beat she pipes up from the back seat, "I am not too hungry. I will just take a water." SO GROWN UP!

yuck veggies: She has a newfound apprehension for anything healthy for her. She says, "YUCK!" about almost anything I set in front of her, except hot dogs, PB &J, or mac and cheese- so frustrating!!!

New playroom: We redid the bedroom in the downstairs in our efforts to sell the house. Keira loves in and calls it her new playroom. It is stocked complete with her Barbie house. We also just recently got her the whole disney princess barbie collection, as I found a great deal on it. She calls her Barbie convertibles there "Rocket cars" Who knows where she gets some of this from?

" I didn't get that " suri: I have the Iphone 4s- which has Suri, the talking navigation/personal assistant on it. I think she is pretty dense and have had a tendency to call her a moron at times, I confess. Well the other day, I accidentally bumped the button when I was loading the car. SURI then says, "I am sorry...I didn't get that" since I didn't talk and ask a question. I just ignored it and kept loading Keira in the car. Keira then pipes up, "Mom! The lady on your phone said she didn't get that! You need to tell her again!" SO FUNNY. Only in today's society does a 3 year old think it is normal life for your phone to have a conversation with you. :) The next day I asked SURI for directions and she gave them to me. Keira then said, "She got it that time mom".

Our house is currently on the market. We have had two open houses, and 5 showings...but no offers yet. We have a couple houses picked out that we like, but are waiting to offer until our sells. We are learning that this is definitely an area that we can trust God with, as it is totally out of our control. Scary- but a good learning experience. :) We have just been praying that God would give us CLEAR AND CONCISE direction- and he has! We have come close to putting offers in on a couple houses, and at the end of the day it has been very clear that we shouldn't do that. I am so thankful that God is leading us!
